In the 1970s, french manufacturers of steam turbine launched a search of general interest on the causes of flow instabilities observed in control valves and relief valves of their energy production facilities. Electricity of France was associated with research entrusted to the ATTAG (Association Technique for Turbomachinery and Gas Turbines). The study was conducted under the responsibility of the author by CETIM (Technical Centre for Mechanical Industries).
It was not until 1984 to bring a spectacular solution. It was an innovative process to dissipate the kinetic energy in flows. The problem was solved efficiently, but the deep foundations remained mysterious.
Today, after long consideration, the situation is sufficiently clarified to better inform valve manufacturers but especially the public of this new situation in Physics: namely the ability to penetrate into the microscopic world to sow a huge mess for avoid chaos in our macroscopic world.
